Editorial standards for DentistGuideTurkey

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Most dental tourism content exists to sell a trip. This page sets out the rules we write under, so you can check whether we are keeping to them.

What we will not publish

It is easier to judge a publisher by what it refuses to print than by what it promises. Our refusals:

Where our figures come from

Price comparisons are built from a documented dataset rather than from memory. Local price ranges come from published clinic price lists, dental directories and public fee schedules in the relevant city; the Turkish side comes from the partner clinic's own list prices. Every published range carries the date it was collected and whether it is a directly observed range or one modelled from related procedures. The sources and methodology page sets out the full method.

Where a city's data is thin, we say so on the page and label the range as an estimate rather than quietly presenting it as observed fact. Where we hold no verified local data for a city at all, we do not publish a page for it. That is a deliberate gate: it is why the site covers the cities it covers rather than every city with search volume.

Comparisons are made like for like or not at all. Comparing a ten-veneer package against a sixteen-unit local case produces a saving figure that is arithmetically true and practically useless, so where scopes differ we scale one side to match and label it as scope-matched.

Currency

Turkish treatment prices are held in pounds sterling, because that is how the clinic quotes. Pages written for readers in the United States show dollars, converted at a single rate that is stored in one place with the date it was set. When we do not hold a current rate, those pages show pounds and say why rather than inventing a conversion.

How pages are written and reviewed

Pages are drafted from the source dataset and the clinic's own documentation, then checked for three things: whether every factual claim has something behind it, whether the clinical statements match our medical review policy, and whether the page would still be useful to someone who decided not to travel.

Clinical content carries a review line naming the DentistGuideTurkey clinical team. What that review does and does not cover is set out in the medical review policy, and it is worth reading, because it is narrower than the phrase "medically reviewed" usually implies elsewhere.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than leave it up. Email info@dentistguideturkey.com or send a message on WhatsApp with the page and the problem.

Independence

Clinics do not see our editorial pages before publication and cannot approve, veto or reorder them. Our commercial arrangements are set out in full in the advertising disclosure. Read it before you decide how much weight to give anything here.

Information only. Nothing on this site replaces an examination by a qualified dental professional.
