Dental Treatment in Istanbul: What It Costs and How the Trip Works

What Istanbul is good at

Istanbul is where our own operations sit. That means the coordination, the clinical review and the follow-up all happen in the same place, and it is the destination we route anything complicated through. If a case needs more than one discipline looking at it (surgery and prosthetics, or periodontics before either) this is where that is practical.

It is also the easier city to reach at short notice. Two international airports, year-round schedules from most of Europe and long-haul connections from further afield mean a trip here does not have to be planned around a season. Most patients treat it as a short, businesslike trip: fly in, treat, fly out.

How the visits are spaced

The single thing that decides how long you are away is not the treatment's difficulty, it is whether the treatment needs healing time in the middle. Two of the treatments below do. Three do not.

The gap is not a scheduling choice and it cannot be shortened by paying more. It is the time an implant needs to fuse with bone, and a plan that offers to skip it is telling you something about the plan.

What treatment costs

These are our published prices. They are the same in Istanbul and in Antalya, so the destination you choose does not change what you pay for the dentistry.

Read the implant line carefully. £300 – £640 is the price of the implant fixture itself. The abutment and the crown that go on top of it are quoted separately, and the crown alone is £130 – £250. A restored single implant (fixture, abutment and crown together) therefore costs more than the first figure, and any comparison you make against a quote at home should be against that fuller number, not the fixture on its own.

Prices are held in pounds sterling and shown here in pounds. They are our published list, collected 2026-08-12, and your own quotation is issued in writing by the treating clinic after an assessment.

Why complex cases are planned here

Most treatments only need one dentist. Some need several, and that is the real reason a destination matters. A full-arch case can involve a surgeon placing the implants, a prosthodontist deciding where the teeth should sit before anything is placed, and a laboratory technician building them: and the plan is better when those three people can look at the same case in the same week rather than passing it along.

That is what Istanbul is for on this site. Full mouth implants, same-day full-arch work and anything that needs gum treatment or an extraction sequenced before the main treatment is planned here. The corollary is worth saying too: if your case is a set of crowns, veneers or a single implant, it does not need this and you should not pay for complexity you have no use for. Those are treated in either destination, and the choice becomes about the trip.

Getting here and getting about

Istanbul has two international airports and they are not interchangeable. Istanbul Airport (IST) is on the European side; Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) is on the Asian. They sit on opposite sides of the Bosphorus with a city of millions in between, so which one you land at changes your transfer time, and a badly matched airport can add an hour to a morning appointment. Tell us the airport before you book the flight, not after: appointment times are set around it.

Once you are in the city, appointments are clustered rather than spread, so you are crossing Istanbul as few times as possible. Traffic here is genuinely heavy and it is the thing most likely to disrupt a schedule, which is why the plan allows for it instead of pretending it does not exist.

How long the flight actually is

Flight times are worth knowing because, unlike fares, they do not move. We hold verified durations for 15 cities in the United Kingdom and 10 in the United States. Where a city has no direct service of its own the duration below is the one via the nearest airport that does, and it says so.

Durations are approximate scheduled block times and exclude connections and airport time. We do not publish fares: they change daily and any figure printed here would be wrong within a week. Check current routes and prices with the airline when you fix your dates.

Timing, and why the season matters less here

Istanbul runs year round. It is a working city of about sixteen million people rather than a resort, so the flight map, the clinics and the hotels do not thin out in winter the way a coastal season does. Practically, that means two things. You can be treated in February as easily as in July. And if an implant case needs a second trip after healing, you can put that trip in the calendar where it suits you rather than where the season allows.

The weather is a comfort question, not a clinical one: summers are hot and humid, winters are cool and wet, and spring and autumn are the easiest to walk around in. None of that changes the dentistry. It changes whether the days between appointments are pleasant.

Istanbul or Antalya

Both destinations are open and the treatment prices are identical, so the choice is about the trip rather than the bill. Istanbul suits short trips, complex cases and travel at any time of year. Antalya suits a longer stay on the Mediterranean coast and is coordinated through an approved partner clinic.
